A Verse on the Forehead of the Revolution – Episode 21

Wrongdoers are the most eager for life, wishing to live a thousand years. But long life won't save them from punishment. Life span is in God’s hands, and He sees all they do.

*A verse on the Forehead of the Revolution
*Title:* *"The Most Eager of People for Life"*

Allah says: *“And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life—even more than those who associate others with Allah. Each one of them wishes he could be granted life for a thousand years. But the grant of such life will not remove him from the punishment. And Allah is Seeing of what they do.”*

This verse completes the meaning of the previous ones: the wrongdoers will never wish for death because of what they have done. Allah emphasizes that they are the most eager of all people to cling to life, even more than the polytheists.

Their injustice is not only personal but extends to others, yet they still fear death more than anyone. Each of them wishes to live a thousand years—however, long life will not save them from punishment.

The verb “yu‘ammar” (to be granted life) comes in the passive form, because lifespan is not in human hands but in God's alone. Man builds (or ruins) his life with his choices, whether with good or evil.

In the end, Allah affirms: *“And Allah is Seeing of what they do.”*
