Religious legislation is a deeply rooted historical phase in the structure and identity of the Syrian state; thus, it must be acknowledged and revisited in our time, as long as there is a need for it.
We consider religious legislation to be one of the sources of legal legislation and a fundamental right of society.
Civil law, originating from the people of the nation, represents a civilized approach that can disentangle sectarian and religious pluralism from the application of religious laws, through peaceful means.
National interest does not contradict religious objectives. If a contradiction appears, it is often imagined—resulting either from a failure to correctly identify the true national interest or from the selection of an incorrect religious ruling.
Resolving the legislative entanglement is essential and necessary to disarm the narrative of violent organizations and to safeguard the nation—now and in the future.
