- We believe the army’s budget, armament, and funding must be subject to the oversight of an elected parliamentary majority, through transparent programs that prevent corruption, waste, and the inflation of certain military sectors at the expense of others.
- We support the military’s cooperation with its counterparts in the international community to promote global peace and security. Likewise, we stress the need for security and intelligence cooperation—especially with regional countries—and more broadly with the international community. All security operations must be reported to and overseen by political authorities.
- The role of intelligence services is limited to collecting and analyzing information necessary to protect national and citizen security.
- Security agencies must be restrained from practicing arrest, imprisonment, or similar actions without a specific judicial warrant—and only in matters directly related to national or state security.
