"A balanced vision of socialism in Syria, rejecting economic authoritarianism while promoting a regulated free market and social justice".

Modern socialism has evolved to advocate for direct democracy in the Athenian style, along with centralized, computerized planning in an economy that does not rely on money or the free market.

While socialism today generally calls for the participation of all social groups in organizing and directing the economy and decision-making, the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party that seized power in Syria adopted socialism in a way that destroyed the national economy.

It handed control to a small elite aligned with the regime, all under the pretext of “popular participation.”

We believe in the importance of a free market protected by the state, which prevents wealth from being concentrated in the hands of a single class.

Such a system maintains a balance between private ownership and the protection of the poor and middle classes from exploitation.

We reject the dominance of public ownership over private property, as we see it as a destructive force against both society and the economy.

We believe that the lack of mechanisms enabling the people to manage their own economy allows a small group to monopolize, control, and dominate it.

In this way, socialism becomes a coercive and authoritarian replacement for capitalism.

We support green socialism, which focuses on preserving and developing natural resources, improving public transport and food sectors, and ensuring basic needs for every citizen.

We believe in eliminating all forms of exploitation, achieving social justice, and facilitating access for every citizen to their natural share of national resources.

We believe in the need to eradicate poverty in all its forms, and to guarantee every citizen their right to healthcare and education.

We reject all forms of discrimination in employment.

We see that a free employment market creates differentiation between jobs based on utility, allowing salaries to rise according to demand, while opposing the inflation of one job sector at the expense of others.

We believe in the principle of balanced and interest-based participation, based on the concept of interconnected vessels.

This model preserves private ownership while encouraging individuals to protect their achievements collectively, ensuring the continuity of all social classes.

We believe in competition and creativity, and consider that freedom in private ownership and entrepreneurship are two main drivers of economic and societal growth.

We reject favoring the power of laborers at the expense of weakening employers, or vice versa.

Such an imbalance is unsuitable for the current Syrian context.

Instead, we call for a balanced relationship between workers and employers—guaranteeing workers' legitimate rights while also empowering employers to innovate, grow, and sustain their businesses.

We believe in learning from the experience of developed countries, and view the economic models of Western capitalist systems—especially the American and generally European—as more successful than socialist systems.

We call for adopting models that integrate economy and ethics.

We believe that Syrian economists must benefit from the experiences of advanced nations while also exploring the depths of our own culture to strengthen our approach.

Syria’s unique character must be respected, to build an original and realistic Syrian economic system
