Political Change

"Political change in Syria is a national imperative, starting with the regime's fall and relying on peaceful reform and civic partnership".

Political change, along with reform in the social, educational, academic, economic, administrative, planning, employment, mobilization, military, and judicial sectors, is a central goal and a national aspiration.

We firmly assert that no meaningful life is possible under the weight of the political despotism that has dominated the Syrian scene for decades, to the point that it has become exposed and discredited even among its own base, let alone its opponents—regardless of the ideological masks or nationalist cloaks it hides behind.

We see ourselves, along with many Syrians, as a continuation of a pre-revolution experience, during which we engaged politically with the oppressive Syrian regime in an attempt to mitigate harm and reduce the scale of evil, striving to offer even minimal benefit.

When the Syrian revolution erupted in 2011, the popular momentum and Syrian bloodshed compelled us to align where we must—working alongside all active and influential political forces to uproot tyranny and end the rule of corruption through comprehensive political change.

We do not view ourselves as fundamentally hostile to individuals or parties of any kind.

Our compass is firmly set against tyranny in all its forms, names, and manifestations, and against any involvement in the spilling of forbidden blood.

The Syrian Future Movement does not believe in externally imposed political change, regardless of its source.

We consider true change to be that which emerges from within and is rooted in the Syrian fabric wherever it may exist.

We believe that political change definitively means the fall of the Assad regime and the initiation of a comprehensive reform process.

We insist on peaceful change, viewing it as the most sustainable and least costly path.

However, we acknowledge the legitimacy of any internal approach that may hasten the political transition, as determined by unfolding realities and national visions.

We believe that the Syrian reality across its regions requires a deep and radical change built upon planning and documentation, founded on national partnership in implementation, with continuous evaluation at each stage of the desired transformation.

We are not satisfied with the current state of Syria, nor do we seek to accept or adapt to it.

We strive to change this reality through available peaceful means while remaining alert and prepared for any other scenario that might be imposed on our people and homeland.

We believe that the role of civil society is to anchor and support reforms.

This is our mission, which we pursue by engaging all Syrians who share our goal of achieving political change.

We believe that successful political change is measured by the overall transformation in political structures and foundations, the nature of political thought governing the process, and the positive engagement of all political forces to influence centers of power and the state hierarchy, thereby redistributing power within the state.

We adopt the democratic path as a means to dismantle the current image of despotism.
We seek to empower and institutionalize this path in Syria as the viable alternative to tyranny.

We believe that political change begins with the voluntary societal shift from its current state to a more advanced and mature condition—while preserving foundational principles and being mindful of the times.

We recognize that the road to political change is long and requires the concerted efforts of the majority of national elites and political forces.

They must first establish a shared vision, then outline its key features, and assume responsibility for overseeing its implementation—while ensuring full and deliberate engagement from the public.

Only then will the people absorb the political change project and become its national foundation and driving force.

We consider political change the beginning of a new phase, not the end of the journey.

Preserving the continuity of political change and nurturing its growth is a new responsibility that must not be neglected.

We look to the sum of historical experiences and the essence of human endeavor to benefit from them in crafting a uniquely Syrian vision of political change—one that forges its own path and becomes a future model we are proud to be remembered by.
