One of our national principles is the promotion of a culture of moderation and connection, as opposed to a culture of extremism and division.
We view this as a methodology for reconciliation and a pathway to harmony among the diverse segments and components of the Syrian people.
Accordingly, we:
- Believe that the Syrian people encompass diverse orientations, ethnicities, religions, sects, and denominations.
This diversity does not necessarily negate the existence of a unified national identity that binds them together.
- Believe that a society's choice lies between coexistence and discord, and what we aspire to exceeds mere coexistence; we aim for a truly shared life.
- Reject all forms of exclusion, marginalization, or dominance over any component of the Syrian people.
- Support and safeguard freedom of expression, even if differing opinions are intellectually or politically opposed to our own.
- Prioritize communication with all segments of Syrian society, considering it a supreme national interest.
- Support consensus-building among various Syrian currents, parties, and groups to achieve positive political change.
- Advocate for a national Syrian social contract in which all components merge in service of the homeland and its people.
- Adopt a revolutionary and patriotic vision that engages with reality, anticipates the future, and avoids permanent enmity with anyone.
- Call for avoiding the exploitation of political differences to widen the fracture within the Syrian ranks; the alternative to unity is division and disintegration.
- Believe that moderation and centrism are the foundation for establishing common ground among Syrians, while allowing for mutual respect in areas of disagreement.
- Encourage intellectuals and thinkers to formulate frameworks for understanding among Syria’s diverse communities.
- Are ready to play a constructive role in bridging gaps and defusing sources of conflict among Syrians.
- Believe the current intra-Syrian conflict must shift into a political rivalry that fosters cooperation and healthy competition in the service of citizens and nation-building.
