Analysis of the situation in Sweida and the urgent need for dialogue to preserve stability.
This is not Sweida—it is Fusida, corrupted by the heads of its sheikhs who hijacked the voice of the province’s people, stole their decision-making, undermined their stability, and misdirected their compass.
They frighten our people there using our religion and beliefs.
They claim that our Islam will leave nothing behind for them, falsely attributing everything to the history of the local authority and its former religious stance—which is both wrong and unjust.
They assert that we brought slaughter, killing, and displacement to them.
For this reason, I said months ago that we should engage with them in dialogue. My call at the time went unheard, and today it would have little impact.
It is essential to expedite a resolution with our people in Sweida; otherwise, the coming situation will be far worse and more dangerous.
